Across the pale pink silk, layers of blush pink, ivory, rose, and deeper red move naturally across the surface. From a distance, the colors feel soft and minimal. Up close, the irregular lines and textures reveal how the pattern was actually made.

This is not a printed fabric.

Each pattern is created by hand using our traditional Chinese lacquer marbling technique. Natural lacquer is prepared with color, floated across the surface, and transferred onto the material through a process where movement, timing, and the hand of the artisan all influence the final result.

The pattern cannot simply be printed again.

And even we cannot make the exact same one twice.

That unpredictability is part of what makes each bag individual.

Instead of applying a repeating printed design, our artisans work with the natural movement of lacquer.

The colors spread, meet, separate, and overlap during the process, forming textures that cannot be completely controlled.

One piece may develop broad areas of soft pink.

Another may show finer red lines, ivory spaces, or deeper layers of color.

These variations are not imperfections.

Each Silk Lacquer Knot Bag is handcrafted to order.

Because the natural lacquer pattern is individually created for every piece, production takes approximately 5–7 business days before shipment.

Small differences in color distribution, texture, and lacquer movement are a natural part of the handmade process.

These variations are what make your bag unique.

Choose two main colors you love, and our artisans can create a new floating-lacquer composition based around your preferred palette.

You can also send us a reference image — a landscape, painting, flower, outfit, photograph, or simply a combination of colors you love.

We will use it as inspiration for the overall color atmosphere rather than attempting to copy the image exactly.

Custom pieces generally require 2–3 additional days of preparation, depending on the color combination and design.

Because natural lacquer moves unpredictably, your finished piece will preserve your chosen color direction while remaining completely unique.
