Each surface is created by hand using Traditional Chinese lacquer marbling, a process in which natural lacquer is floated and guided across the surface before becoming part of the finished piece.

The artisan can choose the colors and guide their direction.

Natural lacquer is traditionally harvested from the sap of the lacquer tree and has been used in Chinese craftsmanship for centuries.

For each bag, lacquer colors are individually prepared and floated by hand.

As black, grey, silver, and ivory meet, they naturally spread, separate, overlap, and form new lines across the surface.

Some areas become smooth and quiet.

Others develop dramatic veins, fine textures, and sweeping contrasts.

There is no digital template behind the pattern.

There is no repeating print.

And there is no way to reproduce the exact same movement twice.

If you receive a piece with a clear craftsmanship defect, such as lacquer peeling or a detached structural detail, please contact us within 7 days of delivery for assistance.
